Our nation is India. India is a subcontinent in Asia. It is a seventh-largest country in the world. It has a rich culture and that has become our identity. It is famous for the common saying ‘Unity in diversity. Be it in religious art, intellectual achievements, performing arts it has made as colourful rich and diverse nation. But when we say India we get it together.

North India and its culture
The boundaries of North India are not as clearly defined. North India culture describes the culture of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It is mainly in Indo Aryan culture The culture of North India varies more from South India culture. The clothing, food, festival, and lifestyle vary a lot. The clothing of women in North India traditional wear salwar, ghagra choli, saree. Men traditional wear kurta, kameez, sherwani, dhoti and lungi. Wheat is a staple diet of a North India. They prefer mostly roti or chapati along with vegetarian curry dishes. Non-veg dishes are popular in Lucknow and Delhi. Punjabi prefer Sarson da saag, Makki, dal machi, choley, lassi, etc.. A variety of desserts are also loved by them. Hindustani classical music is the classical music of North India. North India is land of festivals like Diwali, Holi, Kumbh Mela, Pushkar Mela, Dussehra festival, Rana Utsav, Raksha Bandhan and many more. Taj Mahal is famous for its architect it is located in North India.

The people in North India are more attracted to their traditions. In this modern world, North Indian people follow their traditional culture.

South India and its culture

South India is an area encompassing the Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Telangana. Here Dravidian tradition is immensely rich. Clothing of a South India, women wear traditional cotton and silk sarees. In this modern, some of them changed to salwar. Men wear dhoti, lungi and shirts. Rice is a staple food in South India. They prefer sambar, rasam and vegetarian dishes. People have more craze towards non-veg dishes like biriyani, curry and fry dishes. South India has many colourful and vibrant festivals like Onam, Ugadi, Visha, Mahashivaratri, Krishna Jayanti, Diwali, Pongal, Christmas, Ramzan, Dussehra and many more. Hinduism is the most common religion followed in South India. South India was popular for other temples and architect. South India has rich in natural resources and has fertile land and the people are more devoted to God. They enjoying their life with nature.

Although there are many diverse between North India and South India the people in India are united together. There is no fight between the North Indian and South India.
